Graveside services for James Harold Kirby, age 86, of Roanoke, Alabama, will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, from Cedarwood Cemetery with Rev. David Glass officiating.
Mr. Kirby died Saturday, February 3, 2018, at East Alabama Medical Center.
Survivors include two daughters, Teresa (Todd) Holmes of Lagrange, GA, and Cindy (Michael) Cross of Winter Garden, FL; one son, Russell (Beth) Kirby of Roanoke; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A Talladega, AL native, Mr. Kirby was born September 21, 1931, the son of John Ross and Victoria Herren Kirby. Mr. Kirby served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He had worked as a security guard at Mohawk and as a textile worker at Wehadkee Yarns Mills. He had attended Roanoke Church of God as well as Grace & Mercy Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Geraldean Hurst Kirby; and one son, Randy Kirby.
