Obituary of Dorothy Elizabeth Pate

Funeral services for Dorothy Elizabeth Pike Pate, age 82, of Roanoke will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2015, at 11:00 AM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Stoney Halsey officiating. Burial will follow at Pike Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, March 6, 2015. Mrs. Pate passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Traylor’s Nursing Center. Survivors include: two daughters, Evalena Pate of Roanoke and Jean Spratlin (husband, Ricky) of Roanoke; three sons, Vayden D. Pate of Roanoke, Greg Pate (wife, Pam) of Holly Pond, AL, and Demmy Pate (wife, Kathy) of Dothan, AL; eight grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Nathan Searer, Bruce Clark, Greg Pate, Daniel Pate, Josh Pate, and David Denham. A lifelong resident of Randolph County, Mrs. Pate was born on May 13, 1932, the daughter of Elbert D. Pike and Irene Cumi Folsom. She was a member of Forest Home Christian Church and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Erving Danny Pate; one son, Lynnwood Pate; three sisters, Clemen Knight, Ruby Arrington, and Faris Arrington; and three brothers, Herbert Pike, Recel Pike, and David Pike.
