Robert William “Billy” Pike, age 79, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015, at Traylor’s Nursing Center in Roanoke, AL. Survivors include his wife, Jane Adamson Pike of Roanoke; one daughter, Melanie Durham (husband, Tom) of Mobile; one son, Robert Bryan Pike (wife, Susan) of Franklin; two grandchildren, Christine Pike of Roanoke and Olivia Mayfield (husband, Ed) of Mobile; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joyce Cantrell (husband, Morgan) and Shirley Smith, both of Roanoke; one sister-in-law, Motis Pike of Lincoln; and one brother, Boyce Pike of Augusta, GA. A Randolph County native, Mr. Pike was born on August 8, 1935, the son of Marvin T. and Katie Hammond Pike. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and worked for over 25 years at International Playtex in LaGrange and also worked at Kleentex Industries as a sewing machine technician. Mr. Pike was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Gene Pike; and one sister-in-law, Melvina Pike. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. According to Mr. Pike’s wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Trinity Baptist Family Life Center, 3501 Highway 431, Roanoke, AL 36274, or The Soup Kitchen at Roanoke First United Methodist.
