Obituary of Kathy Ann Mejia

Funeral services for Kathy Ann Mejia, age 47, of Roanoke will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2015, at 2:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Brand and Rev. Mike Brewer officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Saturday, March 14, 2015. Ms. Mejia will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Sunday. Ms. Mejia passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015, at her residence. Survivors include: one daughter, Angela Flores of Roanoke; one grandson, Timothy Wayne Flores; mother, Vera Mulkey and stepfather, Virgil Mulkey of Roanoke; and grandmother, Ann White of Roanoke. A Randolph County native, Ms. Mejia was born on October 7, 1967, the daughter of Gussie Clark and Vera Smith Mulkey. She worked as LPN for Randolph County Hospital, Traylor’s Nursing Center, and Clay County Hospital. Ms. Mejia was preceded in death by her father.
