Funeral services for Mary Josephine McCord Lane, age 81, of Auburn, formerly of Roanoke, will be held on Monday, April 13, 2015 at 11:00AM from Roanoke First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ralph Barrow and Rev. Steve Dean officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Sunday, April 12, 2015. Mrs. Lane passed away on Friday, April 10, 2015, at Bethany House Hospice. Survivors include: four daughters, Krystle Adamson of Roanoke, Carol Corley (husband, Steven) of Carrollton, Colette McCord of Roanoke, and Wendy Rajan (husband, Rishi) of Opelika; one son, Dr. Rockford McCord (wife, Bobbi) of Spanish Fort, AL; twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Ima Jean Williamson Lindsey of Wedowee; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Chris Whaley, Kyle Corley, Kody Corley, Rocky McCord, Jesse McCord, Mason Rajan, Bill Williamson, and Blake Prestridge. A Randolph County native, Mrs. Lane was born on April 7, 1934, the daughter of Colbert and Ellen Pullen. She was a member of Roanoke First United Methodist Church and retired from Roanoke City Schools. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Edwin McCord; husband, Roy Lane; three brothers, Horace Pullen, Henry Pullen, Marlin Pullen; and one sister, Mildred Pullen Smith. Memorials may be floral or the family suggests contributions to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th floor, New York, NY 10001.
