Funeral services for Annette Jackson Mitchell, age 58, of Roanoke, will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at 2:00 PM from Roanoke First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ralph Barrow officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Monday, April 20, 2015. Mrs. Mitchell passed away on Friday, April 17, 2015, at West Georgia Health Center. Survivors include one daughter, Melissa Royster (husband, Terry) of Roanoke; two sons, Gerald Mitchell (wife, Laine) of Woodland and Chad Mitchell of Roanoke; six grandchildren, Erin Mitchell, Taylor Mitchell, Madison Mitchell, Gracie Mitchell, Karlee Royster, and Anna Marie Royster; and one sister, Paulette Banks (husband, Byron) of Roanoke. A lifelong Randolph County resident, Mrs. Mitchell was born on March 17, 1957, the daughter of Floyd James (F.J.) and Ann Chekoulias Jackson. She was a member of Roanoke First United Methodist Church and had been employed as a CNA by Randolph County Home Health for 30 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Gene Rushton; husband, Robert W. Mitchell; and one brother, Stephen Ernest Jackson.
