Funeral services for Ressa Faye Carden, age 68, of Roanoke, will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at 10:00 AM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Anthony Herren officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Congregational Christian Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Monday, May 11, 2015. Mrs. Carden passed away on Friday, May 8, 2015, at Tanner Medical Center. Survivors include her husband, Heflin Carden of Roanoke; two daughters, Angie Hawkins Benefield (husband, Larry) of Five Points and Donna Hobbs (husband, Todd) of Virginia; one son, Russell Carden (wife, Sheryl) of Heflin; seven grandchildren, Tiffany Ryan, Ashley Cook, Jenny Camp, Caleb Benefield, Briston Benefield, Monique Sims, and Josh Leavins; five great-grandchildren, Landon Camp, Brandon Camp, Jasper Benefield, Anzleigh Sims, and Preston Sims; a twin sister, Resa McDaniel of Roanoke; and one brother, David Clark of Roanoke. Pallbearers will be Jim Ryan, Jacob Cook, Darrell Camp, Josh Leavins, Caleb Benefield, and Larry Benefield. Honorary pallbearers will be J.L. Bolt and Larry McDaniel. A lifelong resident of Randolph County, Mrs. Carden was born on December 29, 1946, the daughter of Herman and Eunice Elliott Clark. She was a member of Antioch Congregational Christian Church and had been employed as a CNA by Traylor Retirement Community. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Joyce Hawkins; and two grandsons, Larry Benefield, Jr. and Timothy Don Henry, Jr.
