Obituary of Delores J. Puckett

Funeral services for Delores J. Puckett, age 59, of Roanoke will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2015, at 2:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bill Puckett, Rev. Tim Whaley, and Rev. David Waldrop officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 8:00 AM-8:00 PM on Saturday, May 30, 2015. Mrs. Puckett passed away Thursday, May 28, 2015, at Hospice Atlanta in Atlanta, Georgia. Survivors include her husband, Terry Puckett of Roanoke; three sons, Michael Puckett (wife, Vanessa) and Frank Wilkerson, both of Roanoke, and Kevin Puckett (wife, Angie) of Woodland; four grandchildren; two sisters, Deborah Tidwell and Sherry Vowell, both of Wedowee; and one brother, Mike Loyd of Roanoke. Pallbearers will be Keenan Gosdin, Tim Kirby, Ben Blackstone, Matt Mitchell, Lee Knight, and Tony Burks. A longtime Roanoke resident, Mrs. Puckett was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on November 27, 1955, the daughter of Leonard Franklin and Elaine Ellenburg Loyd. She was Baptist by faith and worked as a truck driver. Mrs. Puckett was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Alton Loyd, Steve Loyd, and Robert Loyd.
