Funeral services for Ruby Janell Parmer, age 79, of Roanoke, will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2015, at 2:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. S.T. Janney officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00-2:00 PM on Sunday.
Mrs. Parmer passed away on Friday, August 21, 2015, at West Georgia Health.
Survivors include one daughter, Debbie Parmer Dickinson (husband, Ronald) of Acworth, GA; one granddaughter, Courtney Dickinson of Acworth, GA; and one sister, Erma Jean Bailey.
Pallbearers will be Chance Hill, Jeremy Cummings, Randy Cummings, Terrell Parmer, Chris Stallings, and Jerry Knowles. Leonard Dale Jones will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
A lifelong resident of Randolph County, Mrs. Parmer was born on January 16, 1936, the daughter of Clarence J. Young and Edith Montez Taft Cook. She attended Fellowship Baptist Church and had been employed by Palm Beach in the sewing industry. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Y.C. Parmer.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to West Georgia Hospice, 1510 Vernon Rd., LaGrange, GA 30240.
