Funeral services for James Emmitt Boyle, age 84, of Roanoke, will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2015, at 11:00 AM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Franklin Foster, Sr. and Rev. Ricky Etchison officiating. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 PM on Friday, September 18, 2015.
Mr. Boyle passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2015, at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Bolin Boyle of Roanoke; two grandchildren, Sommer Lansford and Stephanie Crews; and two great-grandchildren, Destiny and Colton Lansford.
Pallbearers will be Chris Ellis, Brian Bevels, Nathan Bevels, and William Wilkerson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dylan Ellis and Wallace Burson.
A Jefferson County native, Mr. Boyle was born on May 31, 1931, the son of William Smith and Lila Catherine Gray Boyle. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, attended Rock Mills Church of Nazarene, and had been employed as a structural steel designer. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Karen Boyle; and one brother, Billy Boyle.
