Memorial services for Carolyn Jones, age 83, of Roanoke, will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 2:00 PM at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses of Roanoke. Burial will follow on Saturday, July 9, 2016, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Americus, GA.
Mrs. Jones passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Wedowee Hospital.
Survivors include two sons, Gerald Jones (wife, Sharon) of Roanoke and Larry Jones (wife, Lori) of Hudson, Florida; one sister, Betty Shinholser of Americus, GA; one brother, Tillman King of Adel, GA; three grandchildren, Ginny Fleming, L.J. Jones, and Tracy Hodge; nine great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Jones was born on April 24, 1933, the daughter of Jim and Carrie Norris King. She was preceded in death by her husband, Braxton Jones; one daughter, Abigail Jones; one son, Raymond Jones; her parents; one sister, Joanne Yearwood; two brothers, Harold and Carl King; and one granddaughter; Kammi Welch.
