Obituary of Sammy Ray Williams

Funeral services for Sammy Ray Williams, age 61, of Roanoke, will be held on Monday, March 6, 2017, at 2:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Scott Whaley officiating. Burial will follow at Midway United Methodist Church Cemetery of Wedowee with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Sunday, March 5, 2017. Mr. Williams passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at his residence. Survivors include: his wife, Martha Jane Gilliland Williams of Roanoke; one daughter, Tanya Leigh Williams Harris of Wedowee; one son, Danny Wayne Williams of Roanoke; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Linda Faye Williams Wilson of Roanoke. Pallbearers will be Jay Smith, George Zimmer, Phillip Taylor, Jason Johns, Donnie Johns, and Curtis Wilson. Mr. Williams was born on April 21, 1955, the son of John T. Williams, Jr. and Hazel Jones Williams. He owned Sammy’s Used Cars. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Larry Dan Williams.
