Funeral services for Minnie Fay Hand Boyd, age 80, of Roanoke, will be held on Monday, May 15, 2017, at 11:00 AM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Larry McDaniel and Kevin Hand officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:30 – 11:00 AM prior to funeral services.

Mrs. Boyd passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Marshall Manor Nursing Home.

Survivors include: one daughter, Alecia Hand (John) Taylor of Guntersville; two sons, Rodney Ovsal Hand of Greenville, SC and Kevin Curtis (Joni Marie) Hand of Cape Girardeau, MO; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Eris Kelley Watson, Mary Nell Redden, and Melba Jeter all of Roanoke; and one brother, Bobbie Kelley of Woodland.

Pallbearers will be Rodney Hand, Kevin Hand, Michael Erby, Chad Herren, Daniel Tyler, David Kelley, and Anthony Gosdin.

A Roanoke native, Mrs. Boyd was born on March 2, 1937, the daughter of Robert Alexander and Odessa McDaniel Kelley.  She was a member of Potash Church of God.  She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Osval Curtis Hand; second husband, Elton Boyd; sisters, Nadine Herren and Katherine Kelley; and brother, William “Buck” Kelley.
