Obituary of Carolyn Moore Shelnutt

Funeral services for Carolyn Moore Shelnutt, age 71, of Roanoke, will be held on Sunday, June 4, 2017, at 1:00 pm, from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Marion Hammonds and Rev. Chuck Potts officiating.  Burial will follow at Taylor’s Crossroads Church of Christ Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 pm on Saturday, June 3rd.

Mrs. Shelnutt died Friday, June 2, 2017, at Roanoke Rehab and Healthcare Center.

Survivors include one sister, Olivia House of Roanoke and one brother, Sidney Moore of Roanoke.

Pallbearers will be Hunter Williamson, Bryant Gray, Wayne Workman, Jim Kirby, Render Yarbrough, and Joseph Puckett.

A lifelong Randolph County resident, Mrs. Shelnutt was born on April 4, 1946, the daughter of John William and Willie Pittman Moore.  She was a member of Taylor’s Crossroads Church of Christ and had been employed as a seamstress by Palmbeach, Playtex, and Sewell’s.  Mrs. Shelnutt was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bonnie Lee Shelnutt; two sisters, Marie Moore and Setina Moore; and one niece, Susie Teona Burgin.

The family will accept flowers or donations to Compassus Hospice (4455 Highway 431, Roanoke, AL 36274).

Quattlebaum Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
