Obituary of Steven Scott Sowles
Funeral services for Steven Scott Sowles, age 73, of Roanoke, formerly of LaGrange and Atlanta, Georgia, will be held on Friday, November 10, 2017, at 3:00 PM (CST) from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Tim Callaway officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00-3:00 PM on Friday before services begin.
Mr. Sowles passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at Traylor’s Nursing Center.
Survivors include his wife, Jan Sowles of Roanoke; one daughter, Cindy Susan Sowles of Atlanta; one son, Matthew Scott Sowles (wife, Paige) of Easley, SC; three grandchildren; and two stepsons, David Taylor Webb (wife, Cristina) of Roanoke and Kelly McLoughlin (wife, Deborah) of Telico Plains, TN.
A St. Louis, Missouri native, Mr. Sowles was born on September 17, 1944, the son of William and Lauretta Vollmer Sowles. He was Christian by faith, was a retired self-employed computer programmer, and a member of the Georgia Cattlemen’s Association. Mr. Sowles was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William Moss Sowles.
Memorials may be floral or donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
