Obituary of Lucile Corley Nichols

Funeral services for Lucile Corley Nichols, age 103, of Roanoke, will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at 12:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jerry Wayne Carter and Mark R. Lowry officiating. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memory Gardens in LaGrange, GA.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 AM -12:00 PM on Tuesday.

Mrs. Nichols passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017, at Hospice LaGrange.

Survivors include two daughters, Jean Edwards of Peachtree City, GA and Nell Wright of Roanoke, AL; nine grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

A Marengo County, AL native, Mrs. Nichols was born on July 26, 1914, the daughter of Lavander Price and Jessie Mae Mayton Corley. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Roanoke, a member of NAMI Wedowee, and had worked as a secretary for 2nd Baptist Church of LaGrange, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Voyed Mason Nichols; one son, Voyed Milton Nichols, Sr.; and 10 brothers and sisters.
