Graveside services for Gregory Lee McDonald, age 62, of Roanoke, formerly of Opelika, AL, will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2018, at 11:00 AM from Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Bill Calhoun officiating. Quattlebaum Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:30-10:30 AM on Thursday.

Mr. McDonald passed away on Friday, March 30, 2018, at his home.

Survivors include one daughter, Tiffany Laura McDonald of Opelika, AL; two step-daughters, Melissa LeAnn Whitehead of Gray, GA and Angel Calhoun of Roanoke, AL; one son, Gregory Lee McDonald, Jr. of Opelika, AL; one step-son, Kevin James Sudduth of Roanoke, AL; five grandchildren; one sister, Virginia Denny of Columbus, GA; five brothers, Ellis Floyd McDonald of West Point, GA, John David McDonald of Babylon, NY, Kenneth Jerome McDonald of Phenix City, AL, Milton Charles McDonald of Opelika, AL, and Roger Dale McDonald of Lanett, AL; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Donald Whitehead, Craig Calhoun, Gregory McDonald, Jr., Christopher McDonald, and Kenneth McDonald.

A Columbus, GA native, Mr. McDonald was born on July 29, 1955, the son of William David and Myrtle Burnell Doswell McDonald. He was a United States Navy veteran and had worked as an operator at Live Oak Milliken. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Janice McDonald; and one brother, William Ronald McDonald.
