Funeral services for Migy Ray Nix, 82, of Roanoke, will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at 2:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Billy Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00-2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 18th.

Mr. Nix passed away on Monday, April 16, 2018, at Traylor’s Nursing Center.

Survivors include two daughters, Melissa Taylor (husband, Jamie) and Trudy Dunlap (husband, Terry) both of Roanoke; three sons, Ricky Nix (wife, Emily) of Montgomery, Rusty Nix (wife, Patty) of Roanoke and Rusty Sanders of Roanoke; one brother, Harlin Nix (wife, Martha) of Five Points; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Sanders, Terry Dunlap, Rusty Sanders, Nathan Sanders, Kenneth Mapp, and Bill Puckett.

Mr. Nix was born January 16, 1936, the son of William Henry and Mattie Lou Vowell Nix. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Rock Mills and had worked as a truck driver for Superior Gas. Mr. Nix also served as the Rock Mills fire chief and was a farmer.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marie Nix; three brothers, Grady Nix, Wayne Nix, and John Nix; one sister, Doris Smith; one grandchild, Cody Nix.
