Obituary of O. C. Knight

Funeral services for O. C. Knight, age 87, of Wadley will be held on Friday, May 4, 2018, at 3:00 PM from Corinth Christian Church with Rev. Ricky Cummings and Rev. Bobby Burroughs officiating.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00-9:00 PM on Thursday, May 3, 2018.  Mr. Knight will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Friday.

Mr. Knight passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at his residence.

Survivors include: two daughters, Sue Knight of Wadley and Joye Blankenship (husband, Ronnie) of Salem; two sons, Joe Knight (wife, Teresa) of Wadley and Lee Knight (wife, Patsy) of Wadley; ten grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Betty Brooks of Wadley.

Pallbearers will be Joey Knight, Jason Ray, Brandon Knight, David Knight, Cameron Knight, Shane Blankenship, Timothy Smith, and Jake Hammock.  Honorary pallbearers will be the Corinth Volunteer Fire Department.

A Wadley native, Mr. Knight was born on October 23, 1930, the son of Arthur Oliver and Mary Etta Stephens Knight.  He was a member of Corinth Christian Church, was retired from King Power and Equipment, and was one of the founding fathers of Corinth Volunteer Fire Department.  Mr. Knight was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jimmie Knight; five great-grandchildren; four sisters; and two brothers.
