Funeral services for Gwendolyn “Yvetta” Green George, age 89, of LaFayette, AL, will be held on Sunday, November 18, 2018, at 2:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. James Caulfield and Lori Bradley officiating. Burial will be at South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth, FL.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00-2:00 PM on Sunday, November 18, 2018.

Mrs. George passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at her home.

She is survived by two daughters, Jeannie Lee George of Marcoot, AL. and Melissa Page Crowe of Boca Raton, FL; one son, Arthur Ben George of Marcoot, AL.; five grandchildren, Carroll David Novakowski, Ashley Lynn Grout, Tyler Ben George, Samantha George and Jennifer Frawley (Kevin); four great-grandchildren, Avery Grout, Kegan Grout, KJ Frawley and Kiley Frawley; one brother, Joe Green of LaFayette, AL and one sister-in-law, Lucy Bonner of Roanoke.

A Chambers Co. resident, Mrs. George was born on May 28, 1929. She was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church and had worked as a teacher with the Broward County School System. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Arthur S George.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Rock Springs Baptist Church, Children Fund, 2408 County Road 62, LaFayette, AL 36862.
