Graveside services for James Thomas Jackson, Sr., age 77, of Roanoke, AL will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2020, at 1:00 PM at Rock Springs Congregational Christian Church Cemetery with Bro. Stanley Yarbrough officiating and Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:30 AM-12:30 PM on Saturday, March 28, 2020. Mr. Jackson passed away Sunday, March 22, 2020 at his residence. He is survived by his son, Glenn Jackson of Roanoke, AL; grandchildren, Christopher Jackson, Tyler Jackson, and Laura Taylor; Great grandchildren, Clayton Taylor and Lane Taylor; sisters, Julia Ann Haun of Watertown, TN, Mary Kampe of Gainesville, FL, and Dolly Pike of Kennesaw, GA and brother, Gene Jackson of Newnan, GA. Pallbearers will be Mr. Jackson’s nephews. A lifelong Roanoke resident, Mr. Jackson was born on January 30, 1943, the son of Charles Homer and Dura Bailey Jackson. He worked as a beam builder for Amoco Mills. Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Camilla Jackson; son, James “Jamie” Thomas Jackson, Jr.; brothers, Charles Jackson, Herman Jackson, Ralph Jackson, and Pete Jackson, and sister, Sue Dudley. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rock Springs Cemetery Fund c/o Tim Jackson, 6223 County Rd. 65 Roanoke, AL 36274.
