Obituary of Linda Fay Brown

Funeral services for Linda Fay Shelnutt Brown, age 80, of Roanoke will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at 1:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Keith Benefield officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00-1:00 PM on Wednesday before services begin. Mrs. Brown passed away Sunday, June 14, 2020, at her residence. Survivors include: three daughters; Shelby Nunn (Steve Davis Nunn) and Shirley Poore (Billy), both of Wadley, and Trina Railey of LaGrange, GA; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Margie Newman Cook of Montgomery, AL. Pallbearers will be Billy Poore, Kelly Luke, Ronnie Chaffin, Bryar Brown, Lee Brown, and Steve Nunn. A Wedowee native, Mrs. Brown was born on October 8, 1939, the daughter of Marvin J. and Mozell A. Laney Shelnutt. She was a member of Liberty East Baptist Church and worked as a seamstress for Palm Beach. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph Coleman Brown; son, Tommy C. Brown; and sister, Jackie Watson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Quattlebaum Funeral Home at 319 College St., Roanoke, AL 36274, to go toward final expenses.
