Obituary of Beatrice Garrett
Funeral services for Beatrice H. Garrett, age 89, of Athens, GA, will be held at 12:00 noon CDST on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Roger Florence officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon CDST on Tuesday, March 30.
Mrs. Garrett passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2021, at her home.
Survivors include her son, Jarrell Jackson “Jackie” Garrett, Jr. (Allison), of Athens, GA; two grandchildren, Jarrell Jackson Garrett, III, and Lauren Eris Barnett (Shaun) both of Athens, GA; three great-grandchildren, Sam Oliver Tracy, Brady Barnett and Millie Barnett all of Athens, GA; sisters, Juanita Burger (Trice) of Macon, GA, Annis McKay of Macon, GA, and Sara Steingraber (Doug) of Woodstock, GA; and brother, Jimmy Hester (Leola) of LaGrange, GA.
Pallbearers will be Patrick Awbrey, Chris Baltes, Josh Fountain, John Hester, Jesse McKay, and Paul McKay.
A Randolph County native, Mrs. Garrett was born January 9, 1932, the daughter of Herman W. and Eris Shaw Hester. She was a sewing machine operator for Playtex and other apparel manufacturing for 12 years. She also worked at Chris-Gay Clothing and retired from Dr. Primm’s office. She loved cooking and playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jarrell Jackson Garrett, Sr., sister, Helen Blankenship and brother, Allen Hester.
