Funeral services for Annie Louise “Ann” Tidwell, age 101, of Wadley will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Jack Womack officiating.  Burial will follow at Wadley City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00-2:00 PM on Thursday before services begin.

Mrs. Tidwell passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at Brown Nursing Home in Alexander City, Alabama.

Survivors include: one son, Sherwood (Christie) Tidwell of Hoover, AL; and three grandsons, Timothy Tidwell, Ben Tidwell, and Luke Tidwell.

Pallbearers will be David Wilkins, Chelsey Neely, Tim Tidwell, Ben Tidwell, Jerry Bice, and Dale Knight.

A Wadley native, Mrs. Tidwell was born on May 10, 1923, the daughter of James T. and Ovada Meigs Hardy.  She was a member of Wadley Baptist Church and worked as a bookkeeper and as a bank teller.  Mrs. Tidwell was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and always sacrificially gave of herself.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Talmadge Tidwell, Sr.; a son, Talmadge Tidwell, Jr.; two sisters, Erma Gunn and Mary Jim Wilkins; and two brothers, Brannon Hardy and Heflin Hardy.
