Obituary of Barry Tommy Freeman

Funeral services for Barry Tommy Freeman, age 75, of Valley will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Stiles Akins officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.

Mr. Freeman passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025, at his home in the loving arms of his family.

Survivors include: two daughters, April Sheree Freeman Logan and Jamey Elaine Davis, both of Opelika; one son, Barry Tommy Freeman, Jr., of Valley; 12 grandchildren, Jenna Freeman, Errin Freeman, Bryan Freeman, Keton Freeman, Justin Lewis, Kyle Davis, Jaden Redden, Kenya Logan, Cierra Harris, Epiphany Bailey, Kenny Bailey, Euniqua Bailey; three great-grandchildren, Jermiah Pettus, Journey Pettus, and Karter Freeman; three sisters, Rosa Lee Hammock (Charles), Patricia Ann Cole, and Martha Jean Tankersley (Terry); one brother, James M. Freeman (Wanda) of Valley; and a brother-in-law, Danny Bussey.

A Wedowee native, Mr. Freeman was born on February 9, 1950, the son of Lummie Lee and Alma Rean Akins Freeman.  He was a member of the Lanett Church of the Nazarenes and worked as a fixer for the West Point Pepperell and West Points Stevens(Lanett) plant before it closed.  Mr. Freeman was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Daisy May Bussey.
