Funeral services for Angie Adamson Chesnut, age 65, of Glenn, Georgia will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM Central/12:00 Noon Eastern at Centralhatchee Parkway Baptist Church with Bro. Jimmy McMillian officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 PM Central/ 6:00-8:00 PM Eastern on Friday, March 7, 2025. Mrs. Chesnut will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Saturday.
Mrs. Chesnut passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at WellStar West Georgia Hospice in LaGrange, GA.
Pallbearers will be Nathan Adamson, Andrew Adamson, Wesley Chesnut, James Chesnut, III, Jim Smallwood and David Adamson. Honorary pallbearers will be Adam Daniels and Ron Smith.
Survivors include: husband, James “Jim” Chesnut, Jr.; two daughters, Marie Adrienne Chesnut of Dallas, TX and Lindsey Michelle Desot (Chris) of Sylacauga; two sons, Wesley Carl Chesnut (Brittany) of Nashville, TN and James Harold Chesnut, III (Brandi) of Longview, TX; 6 grandchildren, Rhiann Desot, Conrad Hill, Charlie Desot, Alex Chesnut, Wyatt Desot and Amelia Desot; two sisters, Leslie Fennell of St. George Island, FL and Celia Adamson Riley (Ken) of Tallahassee, FL; and a brother, David Adamson (Leslie) of Atlanta, GA.
Mrs. Chesnut was born on May 3, 1959, the daughter of Hugh Dorsey and Jacquelyn Copeland Adamson. She was a member of Glenn Baptist Church. Mrs. Chesnut had been self-employed as a poultry farmer, retired from Interface Flooring as the credit manager and proudly upheld her duties as pastor’s wife for 31 years. Her greatest joy was being a grandmother; she adored all of her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her servant’s heart and her willingness to help others. Mrs. Chesnut enjoyed knitting and sewing. She served her community and neighbors every chance she was given, whether it was baking or using her talents as a seamstress. Mrs. Chesnut’s heart and home were open to any and everyone. She enjoyed going to the beach and camping with her family. Mrs. Chesnut was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Joel Adamson.
