Obituary of Harold Lloyd "Jay" Scurlock, Jr.
Funeral services for Harold Lloyd “Jay” Scurlock, Jr., age 75, of Roanoke, formerly of Great Falls, MT, will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 12:00 PM at the Roanoke First Methodist Church with Bro. Matthew Colburn officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Saturday before services begin.
Mr. Scurlock passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Eleanor D. Scurlock of Roanoke; one daughter, Michelle Palmer (Shane) of East Prairie, MO; one son, Timothy J. Scurlock (Samantha) of Boise, ID; three grandchildren, Hunter Palmer, Kaitlyn Palmer, and Courtney Palmer; his stepmother, Joann Scurlock; one sister, Crystal Knight of Marion, IL; and one brother, Michael Scurlock of St. Louis, MO.
A Jackson, Michigan native, Mr. Scurlock was born on July 20, 1949, the son of Harold L. Scurlock and Myrldean Davitz Clover. He worked a combined 34 years as a veteran of the United States Air Force and an employee for U.S. Civil Service. Mr. Scurlock attended the First Methodist Church of Great Falls and the First Methodist Church of Roanoke. He had many hobbies, chief among them was fly fishing. Mr. Scurlock enjoyed every aspect of fishing, including tying flies and lures, hunting elk, antelope, and deer. He liked participating in walleye fishing tournaments, woodworking, camping, hiking, and the outdoors. Mr. Scurlock also enjoyed gardening and was a member of the local astronomy club in Montana. He was preceded in death by his parents.
