Obituary of Thomas "Tommy" Mayfield

The family of Thomas “Tommy” Mayfield, age 70, of Wadley, will host a memorial service on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 5:00 PM at Community Life Church with Bro. Dan Waller and Bro. Tim Whaley officiating. The family will receive friends after the memorial service at the church.

Mr. Mayfield passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at his home.

Survivors include: his wife, Laraine Williams Mayfield; daughter, Shannon Holloway of Roanoke; son, TJ Mayfield (Lacey) of Roanoke; six grandchildren, Coy Holloway (Dara), Cailey Crockett (Brett), Jaedan Minnifield, Cale Holloway, Cara Lee Holloway (Peyton), and Brooklyn Boggs; his beloved dog, Odie; two sisters, Luvenia Shuman (Ben) of Niceville, FL, and Nina Truelock (Chris) of Columbus, MS; one brother, Mike Heard (Brenda) of Roanoke and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Roanoke native, Mr. Mayfield was born on December 30, 1954, the son of Walter Jefferson “Dub” and Janice Presnal Mayfield.  He attended Community Life Church and had been employed as a diesel mechanic and service manager for Interstate National Lease. Tommy loved to fish, golf, and watch all sports, especially NASCAR. He was preceded in death by his parents.
