Funeral services for Alice Jane Wheeles, age 75, of LaGrange, GA, will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Pastor Darrell Hogan officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00-2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 22 before services begin.

Ms. Wheeles passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange, GA.

Survivors include: three daughters, Mindie Hogan (Darrell) of LaGrange, Tamatha Jackson of Roanoke, and Rena Wheeles of Talladega, AL; nine grandchildren, Erika, Travis, Kassidy, Chad, Madison, Creed, Kellen, Bre, and Macie; 13 great-grandchildren, Braxton, Beckett, JR, Bella, Ari, Adi, Kash, Kross, Kase, Banks, Coplen, Lake, and Linley; one sister, Luneal Clutter (Jim) of Athens, AL; and one brother-in-law, Donald Sparks of Ashland.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ms. Wheeles’ grandsons.

A Talladega County native, Ms. Wheeles was born on October 3, 1949, the daughter of Sherman Stonewall and Maude Alma Hall Haynes.  She was a former member of Freedom Baptist Church and, in her retirement, enjoyed spending time with her family and working puzzles in her free time. Ms. Wheeles was a people person and loved everyone she met. She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Landon Gallahar; and siblings, Alma Weldon, Dimple Sparks, Madura Brown, A.G. Haynes, Sherman Hall Haynes, Clarence Haynes, Jesse Clyde Haynes, and Virgil Sanford Haynes.
