Funeral services for Loette Nelson Howard, age 75, of Roanoke will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Rodney Roquemore officiating.  Burial will follow at Wehadkee Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:30-2:00 PM on Wednesday before services begin.

Mrs. Howard passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at her home.

Survivors include: two sisters, Faye Jeter (David) of Roanoke and Carolyn Nelson (Elvis Shelnutt) of Franklin; and eight nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be David Jeter, Andrew Thrower, Patrick Thrower, Timothy Skipper, and Doyle Skipper.

A Bowdon, Georgia native, Mrs. Howard was born on December 8, 1949, the daughter of Melvin Reeder and Lela Loette Hester Nelson.  She worked as a seamstress for Palm Beach before retiring.  Mrs. Howard was loving, had a welcoming heart, and never turned away a stranger.  She loved going to yard sales and thrift stores and enjoyed puzzles and watching Gunsmoke.  Mrs. Howard was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Emmett David Howard; two brothers, Bruce Nelson and Thomas Nelson; and two sisters, Patricia Wilson and Mary Jean Holloway.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Quattlebaum Funeral Home to go toward final expenses.
