Funeral services for Johnnie Ruth Brown, age 86, of Alabaster, formerly of Roanoke, will be held on Monday, October 6, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Big Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Stoney Halsey officiating and Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00-2:00 PM on Monday before services begin.

Mrs. Brown passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Health Care Center at Buck Creek in Alabaster.

Survivors include: daughter, Jennifer Brown of Lutz, FL; son, Matthew Brown (Debby) of Alabaster; grandchildren, Sarah Grace Brown and Taylor Vincent Darbie; great-granddaughter, Kaydance Leigh Darbie; nieces and nephews, Sidney, John and Kevin Kilgore and Linda Cramer.

Mrs. Brown was born on December 20, 1938, the daughter of John Stafford Wallis and Macey Wallis.  She was a member of Big Springs Baptist Church and worked in medical coding for West Georgia Medical Center. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Calvin Judson Brown; daughter, Laura Leigh Darbie; grandson, John “Jay” Judson Darbie; two sisters, Patricia Wallis Bishop and Carol Wallis Kilgore.
