Obituary

Memorial services for William Tony Hester, age 67, of Roanoke will be held on Monday, October 6, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Tim Whaley officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Monday.

Mr. Hester passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Tanner – East Alabama Medical Center in Wedowee.

Survivors include his daughter, Malorie Chandler (Derek) of Prattville; two grandchildren, Millie Chandler and Hattie Chandler; the mother of his daughter, Cheryl Hester of Roanoke; sister, Sharon Robinson of Roanoke; brother, Roger Hester of Roanoke; and nieces and nephews, Shasta Robinson, Ashley Burnett, Jason Hester and Matt Hester.

A lifelong Randolph County resident, Mr. Hester was born on October 4, 1957, the son of William Wallace Hester and Sarah Faye Mitchell Hester Knight. Mr. Hester was a meat cutter during his working career, working at Winn-Dixie, Piggly Wiggly and Clark Bros. When he wasn’t at work, you could find him on a lake trying to reel in bass. Mr. Hester’s greatest joy in life was his family, especially his two granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dennis James Hester; and stepfather, Franklin Knight.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Forest Home Christian Church in Roanoke.
