Mavis Marie “Maw Maw” Pinkard, age 89, of Roanoke passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Traylor’s Retirement Center in Roanoke.
Survivors include: one daughter-in-law, Donna Pinkard of Wadley; one granddaughter, Mandy Baker (Kyle) of Wadley; two great-grandchildren, Andrew Ray Pinkard II of Wadley and Laura Lynn Pinkard of Macon, GA; and one sister, Elsie Arnett of Wilsonville, AL.
Mrs. Pinkard will be buried in her family’s lot at Milltown Cemetery.
A Childersburg native, Mrs. Pinkard was born on November 28, 1935, the daughter of Haston and Minnie Lou Hamilton White. She was a member of Milltown Methodist Church and worked as a winder for Candlewick. Mrs. Pinkard was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ray Pinkard; one son, Jimmy Pinkard; one grandson, Andrew Ray “Andy” Pinkard; three brothers; and two sisters.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to one’s favorite charity.
