Funeral services for James Waymon Hodges, age 82, of Wadley will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jacob Wilkerson and Rev. Ryan Conger officiating. Burial will follow at Wadley City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM on Monday before services begin.
Mr. Hodges passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Elliott Hodges of Wadley; one daughter, Tera Ogilvie (Kevin) of Wadley; one son, Troy Hodges of Wedowee; five grandchildren, Hannah Shaddix (Jackson), Gage Ogilvie (Alexis Noles), Abbi Ogilvie, Dalton Hodges and Carli Hodges; four great-grandchildren, Isabella Shaddix, Parker Shaddix, Lexi Shaddix and Hudson Shaddix; one brother, Don Hodges (Lynn) of Sylacauga; and two sisters-in-law, Tammie Hodges of Abanda and Royann Hodges of Dickert.
Pallbearers will be Dale Knight, David Harmon, Daryl Harmon, Mitch Cooper, Joel Perry and Richard Cotney.
A Randolph County native, Mr. Hodges was born on December 4, 1942, the son of James Fredrick and Mary Jo Turnham Hodges. He was Christian by faith and was a member of Wadley Methodist Church. Mr. Hodges retired from Southern Union after 25 years in the maintenance department. He was a member of Dickert Volunteer Fire Department and eventually served as chief during his 40+ years of service. Mr. Hodges loved being outside and tending to his yard, whether it was cutting grass, gardening or blowing and burning leaves. He was a big Alabama fan, Roll Tide! His greatest treasure was his family; he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Hodges was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter-in-law Maria Hodges; and brothers, Fred Hodges and Jerrell Hodges.
