Funeral services for Elizabeth “Libby” Lowry, age 99, of Roanoke, will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Stoney Halsey officiating.  Burial will follow at Forest Home Christian Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 – 2:00 PM on Friday before services begin.

Mrs. Lowry passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at LaFayette Extended Care.

Survivors include: one daughter, Angie Cummings of Roanoke; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Mrs. Lowry was born on February 25, 1926, the daughter of Luther Veal and Minnie Pearl Brown Veal.  She was a member of Forest Home Christian Church and had worked as a seamstress for Butte Knit and Playtex. Libby loved sewing and quilting.  Mrs. Lowry was preceded in death by her husband, Emerson R. Lowry; sons, Fred C. Koone and Kenneth Koone; son-in-law, Horace Cummings; daughter-in-law, Janice Mangram Koone; parents; twelve brothers and sisters.
