Funeral services for Mauryce Lynch Moore, age 97, of Wadley, AL, will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at 2:30 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tony Dean, Jonathan Farr and Tim Jones officiating.  A private burial will follow at Wadley City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM prior to the funeral on Sunday.

Mrs. Moore passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Clay County Nursing Home.

Pallbearers will be Justin Farr, Jonathan Farr, Tyler Lovvorn, Ron Young, Ray Jones, and Daniel Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan Jones, Ben Bailey, Steven Griffies, Tim Jones, Tommy Farr, Hayden Bailey, and Parker Bailey.

Survivors include two special nieces and her caregivers, Ginga Sweatt and Betsy Mitchell, as well as her other nieces and nephews: Marsha Moseley, Tim Jones, Len Jones, Debbie Jacobus, Mike Lynch, Karen Phillips, and Donna Ise; a host of great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

A long-time Wadley resident, Mrs. Moore was born on November 7, 1928, the daughter of Clifford Randall Lynch and Mary Lou Pearson Lynch.  She worked as a bookkeeper for J.V. Perry & Co. for 72 years, taught Sunday school for 40+ years, and attended a Bible class at Southern Union for 14 years. Mrs. Moore was also an avid Alabama fan.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Webster Moore; her parents; siblings, Marilyn Lynch Breed, Ann Lynch Jones, Curtis Randall Lynch, and William Paul Lynch; nieces and nephews, Janice Breed Gourdouze, Robert Wilburn Breed, Dr. Steven Lynch, and Curtis Lynch.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Wadley City Cemetery (c/o Carol Knight, PO Box 15, Wadley, AL 36276).
