Singers at the University of Alabama, and with the Southern Union Sound, with whom
she performed numerous times at Carnegie Hall.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wyner S. Phillips, parents, Julian M. Hinds,
Sr. and Josephine M. Hinds, and brothers Julian M. Hinds, Jr. and Robert L. Hinds.
