Funeral services for Alton Ray Ashworth, age 70, of Wedowee, will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Living Waters Main Street Bible Church with Bro. Chuck Potts and Alfred Ashworth officiating. Burial will follow at Forrester’s Chapel Church Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 22nd.
Mr. Ashworth passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026, at East Alabama Medical Center.
Survivors include: two daughters, Jessica Watts of Wedowee and Roxanne Brown of Roanoke; son, Oakley Brown of Wedowee; two sisters, Frances Atkinson and Linda Caldwell; one brother, Alfred Ashworth.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Ashworth, Hoyt Pinkard, Jeff Baker, Dalton Holcombe, Reid Satterfield, and Jeffery Caldwell.
Mr. Ashworth was born on August 27, 1955, the son of Norman Lee Ashworth and Bertha Lou Tillis Ashworth. He was a faithful member of Living Waters Main Street Bible Church and retired from J-Par where he worked as a truck driver. Mr. Ashworth enjoyed spending time with his family, reading his Bible, and going to church. He also loved watching Alabama football and watching wrestling. Mr. Ashworth was a diesel mechanic and spent a lot of time working on vehicles. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rhonda Ashworth; his parents; and one brother, Jerry Lee Ashworth.
