Funeral services for John R. Milner, age 89, of Wadley, will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 6, 2026, at New Hope Christian Church with Bro. Marty Schwartz officiating. Burial will follow at the adjoining cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Friday.
Mr. Milner passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026, at Roanoke Health & Rehab.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Milner of Wadley; one daughter, Sherry Humphries (Ronnie) of LaGrange, GA; one son, Ricky Carden (Tina) of LaGrange, GA; two grandchildren, Allen Golden (Melinda) and Bryan Carden (Neshia), all of LaGrange; one great-grandson, Walker Golden; and special kin, Jerry Hall and his family, John Hall, Jim Hall, Jeff Hall and Jeana Hall Coker .
Pallbearers will be Scott Windsor, Greg Stephens, Bryan Carden, Allen Golden, John Hall, and Jim Hall. William Robert Windsor will serve as honorary pallbearer.
A Chambers County native, Mr. Milner was born January 8, 1937, the son of Clinton Pate and Minnie Lee Edge Milner. He was a graduate of Milltown (Class of ’55) and a member of New Hope Christian Church. He worked as an engineer for 28 ½ years with Playtex and had been a bus driver for the Chambers County school system 14 years. He was preceded in death by his parents.
