Funeral services for Emily O. Moore Knight Sanders, age 93, of Wadley will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Corinth Christian Church with Bro. Ricky Cummings and Bro. Nance Bishop officiating.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 PM on Friday, February 20, 2026.  Mrs. Sanders will lie in state at the church for 30 mins prior to services beginning on Saturday.

Mrs. Sanders passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, in Birmingham, Alabama.

Survivors include: two children, Peggy K. White (Dudley) of Hartselle, AL, and Peter W. Knight (Candy) of McCalla, AL; four grandchildren, Geoff Knight, Brooke Fiore, Britt White, and Brandon Knight; and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Sanders gained a second family when she married Yancey Sanders including five children, Linda Dewalt (Johnny), David Sanders (Debbie), Steve Sanders (Val), Emily Ragsdale (Doug), and Ron Sanders (Gina); 14 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Mrs. Sanders’ nephews, Dale Knight, Mark Knight, Daniel Knight, Jimmy Evans, Kenneth Evans, and Israel Henry.

A Randolph County native, Mrs. Sanders was born on July 31, 1932, the daughter of Paul C. and Annie Ethel Cooper Moore.  She was a member of Corinth Christian Church and worked at Clegg Penrose, Playtex, and Russell Manufacturing before her retirement.  Mrs. Sanders loved piano music, babies, and vegetable gardening, especially her tomatoes.  She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Lewis Vernon Knight and Yancey Sanders; and three sisters, Pauline Beeker, Olive Cole, and Annette Elliott.

Memorials may be floral or donations may be made to the Corinth Christian Church Cemetery Fund or one’s favorite charity.
