Jack Brown Obituary

Funeral services for Jack Brown, age 80, of Roanoke will be held on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Tim Whaley officiating.  Burial will follow at Antioch Christian Church Cemetery.


The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM on Sunday at Quattlebaum Funeral Home.


Mr. Brown passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, on the farm he loved.


Survivors include: his wife, Phyllis Carol Fant Brown of LaFayette; one daughter, Carol “Cissy” Sides of Valley; beloved son-in-law, Robert Hancock of Valley; two grandchildren, Autumn Hancock (Mallory) and Amber Hurst (Ronald) all of Valley; three great-grandchildren, Hayden Hancock, Clara-Grace Culbreth and Wyatt Culbreth; two sisters, Jeanette Barber of Roanoke and Connie Aisel of Ocala, FL; and one brother, Jerry Brown of Smiths Station. Also surviving are his adopted family, including his best friend, Jeff Fetner of Roanoke and Jeff’s boys, Tucker, Rhett and Ty.


Pallbearers will be Rhett Fetner, Ty Fetner, Riley Green, Jackson Green, Timothy Barber and Rodney Smith. 


Mr. Jack was born in Columbus, Ohio, on June 4, 1945, the son of Edward Earl and Anna Carlin Willoughby Brown. He was Christian by faith and attended Cornerstone Church. Before his retirement, Mr. Jack was a self-employed long-haul truck driver. After coming off of the road, he went to work with Jeff Fetner at T & R Farms where he bushhogged, baled hay, and ran cattle. He loved Jeff and his boys and took a lot of pride in aggravating Jeff to the best of his ability. In his free time, Jack was a devoted follower of the Atlanta Braves and loved watching John Wayne. Mr. Jack was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings, Jim Brown, Joyce Littlefield, Jill Conrad and Jennifer Huot.
