Funeral services for Wilma B. Newton, age 93, of Newnan, GA, will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Mike Newton officiating.  Burial will follow at East Napoleon Church of Christ Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00-1:00 PM on Friday before services begin. 

Mrs. Newton passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Ansley Park Health and Rehab in Newnan, GA.

Survivors include: one daughter, Betty Sue Newton Horgen; son, James Michael Newton (Beverly); 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Charlotte Wills.

Pallbearers will be Noah Newton, Michael Newton, Tim Erikson, Ayden Hamilton, Douglas Horgen, Chad Embry, and Ethan Hamilton.

A Randolph County native, Mrs. Newton was born on July 31, 1932, the daughter of Arthur D. and Ethel Brown Bowen.  She was a member of East Napoleon Church of Christ and worked as a cashier for Big Star Grocery.  Mrs. Newton was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Curtis A. Newton; a son, Curtis Steven Newton; five sisters; and three brothers.

Memorials may be floral or donations may be made to the East Napoleon Church of Christ Cemetery Fund.
