Graveside funeral services for James “Jim” Reuben Melton, age 93, of Buford, GA, formerly of Roanoke, will be held on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at 1:00 PM Central Time at Forrester’s Chapel with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Melton passed away on Friday, May 8, 2026, at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Pool Melton; daughter, Charlotte Yvonne Melton of Braselton, GA; three sons, James Kenneth Melton of Lawrenceville, GA, William Dale Melton (Patricia Diane) of Buford, GA and Ronald Alan Melton (Cheryl) of Flowery Branch, GA; five grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren and one on the way.

Mr. Melton was born on November 13, 1932, the son of William Hubbard and Barbara Wright Melton. He was Jehovah’s Witness by faith, and his ministry was very important to him. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Melton worked as a technician for Simplex. He loved tinkering with electronics and was very mechanically inclined. Mr. Melton loved people and will be remembered for his kindness and his meek, mild spirit. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Carl Melton and a grandson, Kevin James Melton.

Memorials may be floral or the family requests donations to one’s favorite charity.
