Judy Rae Salas, age 82, of Roanoke passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at her residence.

The family will receive friends at Quattlebaum Funeral Home from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 11th.

Survivors include: four daughters, Nora Pitts (Eddie) of Virginia, Lora Weaver (Daren) of Southside, AL, Amanda Peterson (Jeff) of Tennessee, and Sara Norred (Sidney) of Roanoke; three sons, Al Salas of Roanoke, Art Salas of Illinois, and Anthony Salas (Jessica) of South Carolina; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her caretaker, Sharon Joiner of Roanoke.

Born on August 14, 1943, Mrs. Salas was the daughter of George and Marge Dowdell.  She was a homemaker and loved painting and making jewelry.  Mrs. Salas was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Artemio Salas; her daughter, Aleshia Ruby Dolberry; and her sisters, Jackie Weitzel and Janey Fick.
