Graveside services for Kenneth R. Mitchum, age 81, of Madison, AL, formerly of Roanoke, will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Randolph Memory Gardens with Bro. Kenneth Johnson officiating and Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00-2:00 PM on Saturday before services begin.

Mr. Mitchum passed away on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Brookdale Skilled Nursing Center in Birmingham, AL.

A Roanoke native, Mr. Mitchum was born on January 6, 1945, the son of Roy Theo and Pauline Robinson Mitchum.  He attended Asbury Methodist Church and the First Baptist Church of Roanoke. After graduating from Handley High School, Mr. Mitchum served in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea.  After serving in the military, he attended Auburn University, majoring in mathematics, and went to work for the Department of Defense at the Redstone Arsenal.  Mr. Mitchum was preceded in death by his parents.
