Obituary

Funeral services for Paul L. Rogers, age 86, of Roanoke, will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Claude Bennett officiating.  Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Monday prior to services beginning.

Mr. Rogers passed away on Friday, July 17, 2026, at his home.

Survivors include: three children, Leon Rogers (Sheila) of Lineville, Carol Taylor (Jerome) of Roanoke and Wayne Hill (Angie) of Woodland; sister, Joyce Mitchell of Wadley; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Steven Rogers, Ryan Rogers, Wayne Hill, Christian Walker, Jerome Taylor and Neil Bates. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Marquardt, Eli Taylor, Andrew Hill and Ted Mitchell. Honorary escorts will be Hope Rogers and Kaley Rogers.

A lifelong Roanoke resident, Mr. Rogers was born on November 26, 1939, the son of Herbert L. and Ozella Hicks Rogers. Mr. Rogers was a hardworking man and spent most of his career working with Baker Battery as a mechanic and machine operator. He loved being outdoors, whether it was fishing or working in his yard. Mr. Rogers loved spending time with his family; he enjoyed taking pictures of his family and friends. He was an independent man who would help anyone in anyway that he could. Mr. Rogers was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jeanette Cumbus Rogers; son, Keith Rogers; and two sisters, Doris Gray and Barbara Bates.
