Graveside services for Carol Reed Brown, age 84, of Roanoke, will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Antioch Congregational Christian Church Cemetery with Bro. Tony Dean and Bro. Danny McGouirk officiating. Quattlebaum Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Brown passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at Bethany House in Auburn.

Survivors include: one daughter, Jean Smith (Bo) of Roanoke; two sons, James “Rusty” Brown and Jay Brown (Tina) of Salem, SC; seven grandchildren, Miriam Reynolds (Tyler), Taylor Logan (Jacob), Taylor Brown, Cassie Brown, Luke Brown, Mendell Newman (Allison), and Will Brown; nine great-grandchildren, Lily Reynolds, Hoke Reynolds, Tess Logan, Shep Logan, Aleksandr Newman, Anastasia Newman, Braxton Hughley, Carter Hughley and Awbriee Johnson; one sister, Judy Butler (Garey) of Opelika; and a sister-in-law, Carolyn Baugus.

Pallbearers will be Brian Brown, Jessie Lee Lewis, Luke Brown, Taylor Brown, Will Brown, and Dennis Ison.  Honorary pallbearers will be Braxton Hughley and Carter Hughley.

Mrs. Brown was born on July 23, 1942, the daughter of J. W. and Mildred Welch Reed.  She was a member of Antioch Congregational Christian Church and worked as LPN at Lanier Hospital.  She loved her family and enjoyed her flowers. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, James Ellis Brown; her parents; and a sister, Dian Thomas.

Memorials may be floral or the family suggests contributions in her memory to the charity of one’s choice.
