Funeral services for Margie Ann Herren Bowen, age 85, of Roanoke, will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Jay Herren officiating.  Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00-3:00 pm on Tuesday before services begin.

Mrs. Bowen passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at her son’s home in Wetumpka.

Survivors include one daughter, Ann Bowen Morgan (Johnny) of Roanoke; one son, David J. Bowen (Rhonda) of Wetumpka; four grandchildren, Amanda Falon Morgan, Jonathan Kyle Morgan, Matthew Bowen (Crystal) and Kristy Bowen; nine great-grandchildren, Kylon Herren, Benjamin Bowen, Bradley Bowen, Jackson Findley, Ashlan Gosdin, Pacee Morgan, Kade Morgan, Raelan Morgan, and Kayleigh Morgan; and one sister, Louise Smith (Jack).

Pallbearers will be Chris Smith, Josh Smith, Quade Smith, Jack Smith, Kyle Morgan, and Matthew Bowen.

Mrs. Bowen was born on April 18, 1941, the daughter of Sidney Wilson Herren and Maggie Nolen Herren.  She had been the co-owner of Reliance Real Estate and was Church of God by faith. Mrs. Bowen loved all things real estate.  She also loved thrift shopping, going out to eat, and going to gospel music concerts. Mrs. Bowen was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Jerome “Boss” Bowen; her parents; and one sister, Brenda Thrower (Ralph).

The family would like to offer special thanks to Mrs. Bowen’s caregiver, Marie Smith, and Ivy Creek Hospice.
