Funeral services for Donald Edward “Don” Quick, age 74, of Roanoke will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2016, at 3:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bobby Burroughs and Rev. Stoney Halsey officiating. Burial will follow at White’s Chapel Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, February 19, 2016. Rev. Quick passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2016, at his residence. Survivors include his wife, Cheryl A. Quick of Roanoke; two stepdaughters, Kayla Jarrard (husband, Roger) of Clanton, GA, and Beverly Hill of Montgomery, AL; four stepsons, Mike Fisher of Roanoke, Albert E. Wheaton, III, of Jasper, AL, Michael J. Wheaton of Marietta, GA, and Ronald Fisher of Atlanta, GA; six stepgrandchildren; his mother, Carrie Jane Quick of Wallaceton, PA; three sisters, Bessie E. Schmidt of Winburne, PA, Darelene M. Gallaher (husband, Larry) of Wallaceton, PA, and Patricia J. Rousan (husband, Steve) of Morrisdale, PA; sister-in-law, Dolores Strickland (husband, Wade) of Dawsonville, GA; and four brothers, Harry B. Millinder (wife, Millie) of Bowling Green, MO, Phillip Quick of Wallaceton, PA, James A. Quick, Sr., (wife, Patty) of Curwensville, PA; and Randy B. Quick (wife, Irella) of Wallaceton, PA. Pallbearers will be Bobby Crabtree, Doug Brown, Waymon Hodges, David Harmon, Darryl Harmon, and Terry “Smokie” Cole. Honorary pallbearers will be the 5/7th Cavalry. A Wallaceton, Pennsylvania native, Rev. Quick was born on October 22, 1941, the son of Edward John and Carrie Jane Maines Quick. He was a member of White’s Chapel Methodist Church where he served as pastor for 23 years and was a retired United States Army Veteran where he served in the Vietnam War. Rev. Quick was preceded in death by his father; his first wife, Eunice Roselyn Quick; and three brothers, Kenneth Millinder, Melvin C. Quick, and Darrell Quick.
