Obituary of Beckie Marie Moore

Funeral services for Beckie Marie Moore, age 73, of Roanoke, will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2016, at 2:00 PM from High Pine Baptist Church with Rev. Richie Farrow, Rev. Chuck Potts, and Rev. Jackie Pittman officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, April 8, 2016. Ms. Moore will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services beginning on Saturday. Ms. Moore passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2016, at Roanoke Health Care Center. Survivors include two sisters, Carolyn M. Shelnutt and Olivia House, both of Roanoke; one brother, Sidney Moore of Roanoke; three nieces; and one great-niece. Pallbearers will be Jim Kirby, Render Yarbrough, and Wayne Workman. A lifelong resident of Randolph County, Ms. Moore was born on December 10, 1942, the daughter of John William and Willie Allene Pittman Moore. She was a member of High Pine Baptist Church and had worked as a seamstress. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Susie Teona Burgia; and one sister, Setina Lee Moore.
